Sony Playstation Network Class Action Settlement

McPhadden Samac Tuovi LLP is pleased to announce that a settlement of this class action has been reached with the Sony defendants. The class action arose out of the unauthorized intrusions in April of 2011 upon the online computer network systems that the defendants used to provide consumers with access to the PlayStation Network, Qriocity, and Sony Online Entertainment services.

The class action was certified for the purpose of presenting the settlement to the Court for approval. The approval hearing will take place at Courtroom 4, Osgoode Hall, 130 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2N6 on June 10, 2013, at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Further details about the settlement, including the process by which to submit a claim for compensation under the settlement, and the process by which to “opt out” of the settlement (that is, choose not to be included in the settlement) are available at the settlement website:

Note that if you wish to opt out of the settlement or to object to it (that is, to tell the Court that you disagree with the settlement or some aspect of it), you must do so by May 20, 2013
